Meet "Alex"

Thank you for your interest in our web page and our lovely boy "Alex."

We are John and Susan Peyton and we live in Qualicum, on Vancouver Island which is on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is a 3 hour drive and a ferry ride north from Seattle, Washington.

For the past 20 years there has always been a much loved Rottweiler in our lives. We admire the breed for their character and impressive style and presence. Both our first and second dog came from Cynthia Roney of Bryloukis Rottweilers. Eron and Lucas were both wonderful examples of the breed, accompanying me to work and being a companion to our friends and family. We still miss them, even after all these years.

Our house was too empty without a Rottweiler so when it came time for another dog we enlisted the help of our breeder, Cynthia Roney. At that time there were no puppies on the horizon at Bryloukis so the search was on. I had decided a "show dog" was in order this time, not realizing what I was getting into. Pedigrees, conformation, working titles, Championships, ..., the list was endless to a new show person. Finally after a very long time our new puppy arrived. We were just thrilled when we went to pick him up. He was just a living doll!

Alex comes from a very special group of people. All have been involved in the breed for a very long time and we feel very fortunate that they would trust one of their puppies to us. Alex was bred by Wyndhurst Rottweilers, Nicola Davis, and co-bred by Dede Brownstein, Ann Callahan, and Janna Morgan.

Wyndhurst Qualicum "Alex" was from the Q litter which happened to coincide with our town's name, so it was natural to call him Qualcium. Qualicum is a local Indian name for "where the dog salmon run".

Alex came from a litter of 9 puppies, 6 of whom finished in 2001 before 2 years of age. Their impressive wins include multiple Specialty and Sweepstakes wins as well as an AOM at 6 months of age and BOS at the Nationals in 2001. His immediate family pedigree includes some of the top producers in the breed;

Alex is available for limited stud service to bitches of merit. His eyes are CERF'd, heart is normal and hips are certified good.

Alex has a most wonderful loving personality. He is very affectionate and trusting, loves people and, along with that, comes incredible intensity and the ability to have lots of fun. Alex loves to train and work. What a thrill it has been owning this very special young dog. We are looking forward to many more years of pleasure with Alex (known around his home as "Doll").
